2016 Committee Structure:
Ambassadors (Meets the 2nd Monday of each month – at noon)
  • Add value to Chamber members through mentoring and assisting individuals to build relationships and connections with other business leaders at Network Nite , Network Mornings and other Chamber event venues
  • Celebrate Chamber member success with Ribbon Cuttings and other recognition tools
  • Coordinate the annual Chamber Ambassador Brat Booth activities
Business/Education Network  (Meets the 1st Tuesday of each month at 7:30 am)
  • Provide “CEO in the Classroom” for 8th grade students throughout the region each spring
  • Partner with MN Chamber to meet Bush Foundation grant parameters
  • Host Career Exploration Expo for area sophomores 
  • Explore how to engage more schools from the area (Winona Middle School, Cotter, Hope Lutheran, Lewiston, etc.)
Economic Development Committee (Meets the 2nd Wed. of each month at 8:00 am)
  • Provide direct business assistance through Grow MN! Initiative and Business Connection
  • Provide recommendations to the Public Policy Committee and/or Chamber Board regarding local business issues as identified from Grow MN visits.
  • Host annual Economic Summit
Public Policy (Meets the 2nd Friday of each month at 7:30 am)
  • Alert and educate Chamber members about state and federal initiatives that impact business
  • Provide Chamber members a platform to be heard by local, state and federal lawmakers regarding matters that are of interest/concern to the members
  • Actively communicate Chamber opinion on business issues at all levels of government
Membership Committee
  • Responsible for coordination of Membership Drive – April 2016
  • Assists staff and chamber board on matters concerning membership sales and retention
Winona Main Street Steering Committee (Main Street has 4 sub-committees that all meet monthly)
  • Responsible for maximizing volunteer involvement in the revitalization effort
  • Assures the implementation of and monitors the progress of the annual Main Street Plan on a regular basis by working alongside Chamber staff
    • Implements priorities
    • Primary responsibility for program fundraising and supports the work of the
      sub-committees by volunteering time and expertise.
  • Adheres to the Main Street Approach to downtown revitalization
Young Professionals Planning Team (Meets the 1st Thursday of each month at noon)
  • Provide platform for professional/personal development
  • Encourages  leadership skills through engaging in community outreach projects
  • Provides professional networking and social opportunities to area young professionals
  • Relaunch Young Professional division through new outreach efforts in 2016
