Winona Chamber of Commerce Foundation announces Winona Main Street Economic Revitalization Grant Program
The Winona Area Chamber of Commerce Foundation and the City of Winona Community Development Office is announcing the opening of the application period for Winona Main Street Economic Revitalization Grant Program.
Who is eligible:
Businesses, property owners, non-profit organizations, and developers.
What:
Grants for 30% of project costs will be distributed to approved applicants.
Where:
Property location in Downtown Winona: Huff Street to Franklin Street and Fifth Street to the Riverfront.
When:
Applications will be available beginning August 15, 2022 and ending October 17, 2022. It may be reopened based on funding.
Funding for Capital Projects Steps
The Winona Chamber Foundation in partnership with the City of Winona Community Development Office applied for funds from the Minnesota Department of Economic Development for capital projects. The application was successful, and the Chamber is now accepting applications for grants to support capital projects for economic development in downtown Winona. Businesses in the downtown area are eligible for funding for improvements to real property such as building construction, infrastructure, landscaping, design, and engineering fees.

Once the application period closes October 17th, the local review team will evaluate the proposal for eligibility, and the following criteria: Potential to increase the tax base, job creation and retention, feasibility (market demand, business plan, research), and readiness (project start date, commitment from contractors/banks).
This criteria is in alignment with the funding priorities established by the
granting agency.
